Black Friday is over and the last weeks of 2022 have arrived. The preparations for 2023 are in full swing and we are happy to help!

Past years have not been the most predictable years. Many events threw a spanner in the works at most retailers. That makes it difficult to plan the year fully ahead, but every year there are different moments that can be used to take advantage of. It is precisely those moments that are easy to plan and provide structure to the plans for the new year. That's why we've updated the Yellowgrape marketing calendar and provided it with the most interesting commercial hits, holidays and vacation periods for 2023.

In last year's blog we have already identified a few focus points to start the new year well prepared. This year, we are adding a few new points of interest.

Plan your optimization projects too

These commercial moments are very important, but don't forget to also include your optimization projects in the planning. For example, it is advisable to let the most impactful projects, such as CRO/social AB tests or the implementation of important CDP use cases (based on the lifecycle model) take place before your most important months so that they can reap the benefits during the high season.

Content king

Good action depends on good content. Of course, you can choose to set up a 'flat' promotion and put it away via a number of channels. As soon as you carefully plan and coordinate the content for this, you are truly a content king! In short: with content, you make the difference. It is therefore extremely important to start preparing for price/theme actions on time.

Partner marketing

Don't ignore your always-on layer when making your schedule. The actionable campaign moments should actually provide a 'boost' on top of your regular always-on strategy. One of the ways to reinforce your always-on strategy is to intensify partner marketing. This can be done, for example, by deepening the upper funnel: online magazines such as a Hearst or Mediahuis are certainly suitable for this. Want to know more about this?
