Topbloemen wins the Next Gen Heroes award at the DDMA Experimentation Heroes

On Thursday, November 6th, the DDMA Experimentation Heroes awards were presented at The Social Hub Amsterdam City. Topbloemen (part of Topgeschenken) won the Next Gen Heroes award for their outstanding case in collaboration with the UX & Experimentation team from Yellowgrape.

An educational and festive event

This year, there was a full program of inspiring cases and talks. Cases were presented separately for each category, allowing visitors to pick and choose which stories they wanted to dive into. The program also featured inspiring keynotes from speakers like Melanie Kyrklund and Bart Meerdink. Representing Yellowgrape, Nick Schaperkotter and Martijn Versteeg took the stage to share their insights on the evolving role of the AI-enhanced CRO specialist and the future of AI-powered personalization.

The day wrapped up with the announcement of the winners. While Odido, PostNL, and ANWB claimed awards in other categories, Topbloemen took home the Next Gen Heroes award.

The Next Gen Heroes award, presented as a recognition prize for inspiring CRO cases, went to Topbloemen. Their case stood out for curiosity, persistence, and craftsmanship. With a strong focus on qualitative user testing and real participant feedback, Topbloemen showed how even small but targeted changes can make a big difference through experimentation. Research revealed that high delivery costs were a dealbreaker for many customers. This insight led the team to highlight the unique aspects of Topbloemen’s delivery method, turning a potential weakness into a differentiator and a justification for the delivery costs. This strategic pivot made a significant positive impact on the conversion rate.
