Yellow update

We are no stranger to sports with colleagues. For example, an annual football team is brought together for the Adfocup, colleagues book various sports lessons among themselves every week in the Amsterdam gyms and a padel tournament is frequently organized in which almost half of the Yellowgrape team participates.

So although many colleagues often sit at the desk every day, they do not lack sufficient exercise. This was also evident on Sunday, September 17, during the 37th edition of the Dam tot Damloop, where Yellowgrape was well represented on the 10 English Mile (16.1 km) with no less than 10 colleagues!

The course

For everyone, it was the first participation in the Dam tot Damloop. So the first training schedules were already shared at the beginning of the summer, after all, you don't just run 16.1 kilometers. The necessary meters were thus covered in Amsterdam and the surrounding area to get off to the start fit on the big day.

The run, which starts in Amsterdam and ends in Zaandam, is the largest running event in our country with around 43,000 participants. The so-called “Green Teams” ensure tidy and cordoned off streets. With a view of NEMO, the Maritime Museum and the Oosterdok, the start was spectacular. Supported by motivating music, the runners disappeared into the famous IJtunnel.

For those who are familiar with Amsterdam, know that the famous tunnel passage is usually not open to pedestrians. So this made for an extra special experience. In the tunnel, the runners were supported by DJs and drum musicians, among others, in their journey to Zaandam and then finished to loud cheers from the onlookers, including colleagues, family and friends.

The charity: Muscles for Muscles

The run was not the only challenge, for example, the Yellowgrape runners had set themselves the goal of raising at least €1,500 for charity before the start of the run Muscles for Muscles.

Muscles for Muscles is committed to children with muscle diseases with heart and soul. By funding research, supporting families and raising awareness, they offer these brave children a better future.

Thanks to the generous contributions from family, friends, colleagues and a number of companies, the target amount was far exceeded by no less than €3.796!

In this way, we would like to thank all donors and in particular the following companies that received a spot on our sponsor shirt with a generous donation of at least €250.
